Customs have seized an illegal shipment of explosives into Nigeria, a country buckling under a wave of bomb attacks blamed on Islamists, including one against United Nations (UN) offices, an official said on Saturday.
'A 40-foot container of explosive materials was intercepted yesterday at the port of Tin Can' in Lagos, customs spokesman Wale Adeniyi said.

On Thursday Sept 15th, ex-president Obasanjo paid a very private visit to the family of slain Boko Haram leader/founder, Mohammed Yusuf, in Maiduguri, where he begged the family to forgive those who killed their leader and let peace reign.
The man Obasanjo met with was Mohammed Yusuf's brother-in-law, 48year old Babakura Fuggu. Just two days after the meeting, Fuggu was gunned down at his Borno state residence, same venue of the meeting with Obasanjo.
A lone gun man, reportedly in traditional Fulani flowing garb, suspected to be a member of Boko Haram, entered Fuggu's residence at about 1.20pm yesterday afternoon and shot him to death.
The police in Maiduguri say the killing was most likely in protest of Obasanjo's visit to the Yusufs. No one has been arrested yet.
