First Lady Michelle Obama Spotted Shopping

Wow! You could have been standing in line shopping  with Michelle Obama.
The first lady, hard to recognize in a baseball cap and sunglasses, shopped on Thursday at a Target store in the Potomac Yard Shopping center in Alexandria, VA., just outside Washington.
Casually dressed Secret Service men arrived about half an hour before Mrs. Obama, walked in through the main entrance with an assistant. She spent 30 to 40 minutes shopping, pushing her own cart by herself. She apparently was recognized only by the cashier who rang up her purchases.
Since coming to the White House, Mrs. Obama has lamented missing out on what she calls "normal stuff," like Target runs.
She isn't the first first lady to try to go out unrecognized. Hillary Rodham Clinton went for walks wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses, too.

I could imagine Mrs Patience Jonathan doing likewise. Lol...

Shocking Picture of Michael Jackson's Corpse Shown In Los Angeles Superior Court

THE jury in the trial of the doctor accused of killing Michael Jackson was shown a shocking photograph yesterday of the singer lying dead on a hospital trolley.

The jurors were also played a tape of Jackson's voice, recorded the month before he died, in which he slurred his words, mumbled and appeared to be heavily sedated.

The disturbing evidence was produced by prosecutors as Dr Conrad Murray (58), the singer's personal physician, went on trial more than two years after Jackson's death.

Dr Murray, who denies a charge of involuntary man- slaughter, was accused of "gross negligence, medical abandonment and repeated incompetence".

Prosecutors accused him of being interested not in Jackson's health, but a "$150,000-a-month contract" he had for looking after the entertainer.

Ed Chernoff, the doctor's lawyer, later told the court that Jackson had caused his own death by self-administering propofol, an anaesthetic meant for use only in hospitals, and had already swallowed enough lorazepam sleeping pills to put six people to sleep.
Mr Chernoff said that created a "perfect storm" in Jackson's body that killed him instantly.

Deputy District Attorney David Walgren showed jurors the slide of Jackson's pale dead body wrapped in a white sheet. It was stamped "homicide".

He contrasted it with a photograph taken the day before in which Jackson was seen rehearsing. "What happened during that timeframe is that the acts and omissions of Michael Jackson's doctor directly led to his premature death at age 50," said Mr Walgren.

The court then heard a recording of Jackson's voice, apparently recorded by Dr Murray on his iPhone on May 10, 2009. The prosecution claimed it showed Jackson was "heavily under the influence" and Dr Murray was aware of that.

Nigeria's NEXT newspaper, Run by Pulitzer Prize winner, Ceases Publication After 2½ Years

A Nigerian newspaper run by a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist stopped publication Sunday after 2½ years of muckracking and sometimes controversial coverage of Africa's most populous nation, the publisher said.

NEXT newspaper, printed in Lagos, did not appear on newsstands this weekend. Publisher Dele Olojede, a former foreign editor for New York's Newsday, said NEXT was "losing a lot of money" and decided to stop its print edition to reevaluate its finances.

Olojede said it was possible the newspaper could begin publishing again. However, the newspaper's advertising dwindled in recent months, forcing it from publishing six days a week to only on Sunday.

The newspaper's crusading political stance also hurt ad sales, as the salutatory advertisements heaping praise on politicians and the country's elite that fill other publications never made it into its editions.

10 Signs Your Woman or Girl Might Be Cheating On You

1. She Constantly Works Late
Depending on her career, she really may have to work late. With that said, be on the lookout for changes and use your best judgment. Has your wife all of a sudden started working late? In terms of using your best judgment, know what careers often call for late nights, such as lawyers, doctors, and so forth.

2. You Don’t Know Where She is- one of the bigger signs of a cheating wife.
When you are married, there is never really any reason why you shouldn’t know where your spouse is, especially late at night or for long periods of time. If you do not know, chances are she is cheating. When she arrives home, they better have a good reason for being late or not letting you know where they were. If she goes into a long complicated story. That’s a good sign she is lying. The truth is usually short and simple. When she is nervous she will over think the lie and just ramble on. The truth should be easy to verify , on your on.

3. For the married! No Sex, Feelings and Affection Decreases
Has your relationship recently become sex-free or has the sex that you do have decreased in intensity and in frequency. Has the sex changed? Is she doing something differently that she had not done before? A new technique?. Sure she could be watching sex tapes and learning new stuff. But it could also be a sexual preference of the guy she is seeing on the side. Question yourself about it. There is a good chance that your spouse is cheating on you. Women who get sex elsewhere don’t always need to have it again when they return home. A change in the amount of affection that your wife gives you could be seen as a sign of having an affair. For example, has your love life been happy and healthy in the past? Was your relationship filled with fun, adventure, and great sex? If so, has that changed? If your wife no longer compliments you as she did before or does something as simple as pull away during a kiss, an affair may be going on. Many cheating women try to avoid close contact with their husbands in fear of getting caught or letting their guilt show.

4. She Accuses You Of Cheating
In today’s society, cheating is a major concern. If your wife accuses you of cheating, have you been displaying behavior that may lead them to that conclusion? If you haven’t, there is a good chance that they are accusing you of cheating to make themselves feel less guilty.

"Nigerian rapist can stay"- European Judges

A Nigerian rapist cannot be deported from Britain because a legal fight to remove him took so long he has developed a “life” here, European judges have ruled.

Controversial American rapper DMX: 'Family life' ruling means Nigerian rapist can stay

Akinshipe was 15 when he claimed he was called DMX, after the controversial American rapper who glorified the rape of young girls.
Akindoyin Akinshipe, 24, was first told he was being deported in 2003 while serving four years for the rape of a 13-year-old girl.

He was 15 at the time and told the girl he was called DMX, after the controversial American rapper who glorified the rape of young girls.
Akinshipe had only been in the country three years when he first faced removal but he has been able to challenge the order through the domestic and European courts for the last eight years.
Since then he has been to university, gained a Master's degree, become a regular churchgoer and found a job.
The European Court of Human Rights yesterday ruled that deporting him now would breach his right to a family and private life, despite accepting that “very serious violent offences can justify expulsion”.

Last night his family told The Daily Telegraph that they were "very pleased" with the court's decision.
The ruling was even based on the fact that he was effectively developed a social and cultural life in the UK rather than a family life because he does not have a wife or children.

Boko Haram: Man Obasanjo Met In Maiduguri Killed

Babakura Fuggu (Late)
On Thursday Sept 15th, ex-president Obasanjo paid a very private visit to the family of slain Boko Haram leader/founder, Mohammed Yusuf, in Maiduguri, where he begged the family to forgive those who killed their leader and let peace reign.

The man Obasanjo met with was Mohammed Yusuf's brother-in-law, 48year old Babakura Fuggu. Just two days after the meeting, Fuggu was gunned down at his Borno state residence, same venue of the meeting with Obasanjo.

A lone gun man, reportedly in traditional Fulani flowing garb, suspected to be a member of Boko Haram, entered Fuggu's residence at about 1.20pm yesterday afternoon and shot him to death.

The police in Maiduguri say the killing was most likely in protest of Obasanjo's visit to the Yusufs. No one has been arrested yet.

Do you think these guys are ready to make peace reign or cause more unrest? Your comments and views on these matter is welcome.

Miss Universe 2011: Miss Angola's Victory Questioned

Miss Angola, Leila Lopes, is the new Miss Universe. Leila became the first Miss Universe from her country in 60 years.

She won the contest not only because of her intelligence, but for her inner beauty; however, the critical statements from a fellow contestant, a judge and some others are still making rounds on Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites.

When Leila won, many people, who supported Shamcey Supsup, Miss Philippines, criticized the results of the pageant as they were surprised that Supsup lost the title after almost making it to the finals according to the fan votes.

Miss Philippines, 3rd runner-up, Shamcey Supsup received the maximum attention when Oprah Winfrey and a judge, Lea Salonga, said Supsup deserved to win.

Now, a French magazine, Premier.fr, has reported that Miss France, Laury Thilleman, is not happy with the new Miss Universe 2011.

In an interview with the magazine, she has reportedly made nasty and haughty comments against Miss Angola.

Thilleman made sharp comments saying that “Lopes was a very reserved kind of person and she also lacked personality.”

Earlier, Oprah Winfrey was quoted saying that “If the only basis is the Q and A portion, after having been trimmed down to 5, Ms. Philippines deserved to win. What made her different from the rest is that she had no seconds to rethink of her answer as she had no interpreter to break the ice. The rest had their interpreters and having breaks on seconds to think about their answers. Hands down Ms. Philippines answered straight to the point,” according to the NBC News.

Later, Oprah’s own Web site denied the statement, claiming that there was no truth in it, and Winfrey had never made any comment.

Miss Universe 1969, Gloria Diaz, noted that Miss Universe pageant is not only about beauty and brains, but also about luck, according to a report on Tempo.com.

“It’s 99% luck. Everybody has an opinion why she did not win, whether the answer was good enough or not good enough. To some people it was smart; to some people it was kulang. But really it’s just luck at the end of the day,” she said on radio dzMM.

After these speculations and comments came to the knowledge of Supsup, she is now trying to convince the public to support Leila Lopes, who is crowned Miss Universe 2011.

Supsup said Lopes deserves the crown completely and there is no political plot behind the decision.

“It’s okay, I’m so happy. I didn’t expect to make it to the finals. Backstage, people congratulated me and say I answered the question very well. I’m just happy the people love me and think I was able to make it because of performance not because of any strategy,” Supsup said, as reported on a Web Site.

Lopes is the first Miss Universe from Angola and has made her country proud with this historic victory. Miss Universe, Leila Lopes, has several plans to uplift the spirit of Angola.

Miss Philippines insists that judges' decision must be respected because Miss Angola has performed her best too and deserves to win the title.

UI Students Protests Boko Haram Bomb Threats, Halt Exams

There was confusion at the University of Ibadan on Wednesday as the Students Union Government of the institution besieged examination halls and disrupted the ongoing second semester examinations which has led to the temporary suspension of the examination.

According to the SUG, the action was in response to the growing anxiety over alleged plan by the dreaded Boko Haram sect to attack the institution and other universities in the country.A students who spoke on the condition of anonymity queried, “How on earth are we expected to perform well when there is no light and water to read for the exam? In fact, the school authorities have kept us in the dark about this story of Boko-Haram targeting the school.

“We only got to know about it in the newspapers and the school has not deemed it fit to inform us either through memo or by inviting the student leaders. That is too bad. We all know that terrorist attacks happen where there is a large crowd. This is more likely during examination periods.”

Hmm...this is becoming a National Issue. What has students got to do with Boko Haram? I hope it is just a rumour.

NCC Advises Nigerians to Ignore Rumours of Phone Calls That Kills

Wonders shall never end in Nigeria. The 'killer' numbers are supposedly 09141 and 091441. So basically, when these numbers call you and you pick = you die! Some people claim that 10 people died in Wukari while receiving calls from these phone numbers. Really? Wow! And some people are buying this? OK!

Anyway, the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has advised Nigerians to ignore such rumours. The commission said the claim is false and without any iota of truth, and that nothing like that could happen to somebody responding to a phone, no matter the number through which such calls are made. It is only very gullible people that will believe such a rumour, they said.

Honestly, Nigerian people there is nothing like that! Relax!!
