A Nigerian Samuel Shoyeju Sentenced to Jail for 7 years in UK

A Nigerian (Born in Britain) Samuel Shoyeju, a United Kingdom immigration officer, has been sentenced to seven years jail term for falsely granting Indefinite Leave to Remain (Green Card equivalent) - "Stay" to 44 non-EU residents (all Nigerians) who were not entitled to it or entitled to stay in the United Kingdom.


The court was told that scores of immigrants who were fraudulently issued with (Indefinite Leave to Remain / Permanent Settlement) visas by this rogue (generous / kind?!) UK Border Agency official, Samuel Shoyeju, were Nigerians and remain at large almost four years later.

Only 14 of the false letters that he issued have been recovered, which means most of the recipients have not been identified.

Man Rose From Dead After 3 Days In Mortuary

Residents of Oremeji in Aradagun near Badagry, Lagos, were on Sunday thrown into shock when a man presumed dead suddenly resurrected after three days in the mortuary.

The man, simply identified as Mr Agosu, reportedly died of an undisclosed illness on Friday in a hospital and his remains were deposited at the morgue of the Badagry General Hospital.

President Goodluck  Jonathan has removed the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, Mrs. Farida Waziri.

Her removal was contained in a three-paragraph statement signed by Jonathan’s spokesperson, Dr. Reuben Abati in Abuja on Wednesday morning.

Jonathan named Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde as the Acting Chairman/Chief Executive of the lame duck commission.

Hairstylist kills neighbour with broken bottle during fight


A hair stylist, Cletus Nweke (pictured above) has been arrested by the police for the alleged murder of one Paul Michael, a 27-year-old driver.


Nweke allegedly killed Michael at about 5.40am on November 9 at the Ikota Housing Estate,Ajah. Before the incident, the two men lived in the same building.

Robbers Bomb Kogi Police Station, Kill Two

HEAVILY armed bandits yesterday stormed Kabba, the headquarters of Kabba Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, where they bombed the divisional police station, killing two police men. The branch of a bank located around the police station was also bombed but efforts to gain access to the bank vault failed.

According to eye witnesses, the bandits, numbering about 10, invaded the police station, disarmed the personnel and headed for the armoury where they carted away arms. They reportedly released suspects detained in the station before bombing it.

Angry Pregnant Woman Stabs Husband To Death

A pregnant housewife in Bauchi State has allegedly stabbed her husband, a Lance Corporal in the Nigerian Army to death over adultery.
Daily Sun gathered that the mistress who was identified as Sarah was also injured by the housewife, a mother of two during the attack.

Michael Jackson’s death bed has been put up for auction, it was announced today.
The queen-sized bed is among many of items that are being sold from the Holmby Hills, California, mansion where the King of Pop died two years ago.
The event will take place next month and is being held by Julien’s Auctions who will also sell off lots of the late star’s personal items.
TMZ are reporting that the bed is still in good condition but that the linens have been changed.
Other items on the auction block include a mirror from the Thriller star’s “inner sanctum” which was a private bedroom that no one else in the home was allowed to enter.
The mirror had a message that Michael had scribbled on it for himself as he prepared for his This Is It concert tour.
“TRAIN, perfection, March April. FULL OUT May,” a rep from Julien’s says it reads.
A chalkboard in the home’s kitchen which has, “I (heart) Daddy. SMILE, it’s for free,” is expected to raise more than $400.

Day-old baby disappears from private hospital in Abia

IBB undergoes surgery in Germany

Nigeria's former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida, is ill and on admission at a German hospital.

Babangida, who left the country a few weeks ago for what was reported to be a routine medical check-up, was said to have been indisposed for quite some time now.

A source close to the hospital in Germany said the former president, who had a successful operation for an undisclosed ailment, was initially in critical condition a few minutes after the operation, but had since stabilised.

However, a source close to his family told the Nigerian Tribune that he spoke with Babangida by phone on his sick bed in Germany at about 4.10 p.m. (Nigerian time) on Thursday and that there was no cause for anxiety over his health.

All efforts to get through to his media aide, Mr Kassim Afegbua, were unsuccessful, as he neither responded to calls nor to the text message sent to him.

Jim Iyke in court over N15 million fraud- 234next.com

A film actor, Jim Iyke, 35, was on Thursday arraigned before
an Abuja Chief Magistrates' Court charged with N15 million fraud.

The Police Prosecutor, Mr Chijoke Okezie, told the court that on Aug. 8, Habiba Abubakar wrote a petition to the Inspector General of Police (IG) to investigate the fraud.
